This Privacy Policy explains how Your Delivery Services (“YDS,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our website, place an order, list a business, or apply to drive with us. We operate in Broward County, Florida.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Give Us
- Account information: name, email, phone number, hashed password
- Order details: pickup and delivery addresses, contact information for the recipient, package description, special instructions, scheduled date and time
- Payment information: processed by PayPal — we receive only a transaction ID, capture ID, and the amount paid. We do not see or store your credit card or PayPal login credentials.
- Driver applications: name, contact info, vehicle details, license plate, ID and insurance documents (uploaded photos), home base address, service radius
- Business listings: business name, description, contact info, address, photos, category
- Communications: messages you send through our contact form, support emails, or in-app messaging with drivers
Information Collected Automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on each page, referring URL
- Cookies and similar technologies: session cookies for keeping you logged in, CSRF protection tokens, and a small set of preference cookies
- Location data (drivers only): while a driver is on shift and has an active delivery, we collect their device’s GPS location to enable real-time tracking visible to the customer for that order. Location is not collected when the driver is off shift.
- Push notification subscriptions: if you opt in, we store the endpoint information needed to send you order updates
Information from Third Parties
- PayPal: payment confirmation, capture/refund IDs, payer email (used only to identify the order)
- Google Maps and similar services: address geocoding and route distances; we send the addresses you enter to these providers to compute pricing and routing
2. How We Use Your Information
- To take, process, dispatch, and deliver your orders
- To match deliveries with available drivers and route them efficiently
- To send order confirmations, status updates, delivery photos, and receipts
- To provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- To process payments and refunds via PayPal
- To verify driver identity, eligibility, and insurance
- To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or illegal activity
- To improve the website, app, and overall service quality
- To send service announcements and, if you opt in, promotional offers (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- To comply with our legal obligations
3. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only in the following ways:
With Drivers
To complete your delivery, we share your name, pickup and delivery addresses, contact phone, package description, and any special instructions with the driver assigned to your order. Drivers do not receive your email or payment details.
With Customers (drivers’ info)
When a driver accepts your order, we share their first name, vehicle type, and photo (if provided) with you, along with real-time GPS during active delivery. We do not share the driver’s home address or personal contact info.
With Service Providers
- PayPal — payment processing
- Google Maps / mapping APIs — geocoding and routing
- Email and SMS providers — transactional messages (order confirmations, delivery notifications, password resets)
- Push notification services (Apple Push, Firebase Cloud Messaging) — to deliver browser/PWA notifications you have opted into
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to operate the website and store data securely
These providers are bound by their own terms and process data only for the limited purpose of providing the service to us.
For Legal Reasons
We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of YDS, our users, or the public.
Business Transfers
If YDS is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information is moved and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
What We Do Not Do
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share it with advertisers for cross-site tracking. We do not use your data for purposes unrelated to operating the YDS service.
4. Data Retention
- Order records are retained for 7 years to comply with tax and accounting obligations
- Driver application documents are retained for the duration of the driver’s active relationship plus 2 years after
- Audit logs are retained for up to 10,000 entries (typically several months of activity)
- Push subscriptions are deleted automatically when the push provider reports the endpoint as expired
- Inactive accounts: if you have not placed an order in 24 months, we may anonymize or delete your profile
5. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Access the information we hold about you — visit your customer portal or email us
- Correct inaccurate information — from your portal or by contacting us
- Delete your account — from the customer portal. Past orders may be anonymized rather than deleted to preserve our accounting records
- Opt out of marketing communications by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by emailing us. Transactional messages (order confirmations, delivery notifications) cannot be opted out of while you have active orders
- Disable push notifications from your browser or device settings, or from the customer portal
California residents: the CCPA gives you additional rights including the right to know what personal information we collect and to request deletion. Email us at the address below to make a request.
Florida residents: the Florida Digital Bill of Rights gives you the right to confirm whether we process your personal data and to correct inaccuracies. Email us to make a request.
6. Children’s Privacy
YDS is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information — including HTTPS encryption in transit, hashed passwords, session-based access control, CSRF protection on state-changing actions, and access controls on our backend systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Cookies
We use the following types of cookies:
- Essential cookies — for login sessions and CSRF protection. Cannot be disabled if you want to use the service.
- Preference cookies — remember your language, address, or service-tier choice
- Analytics — we collect aggregated, non-identifying usage statistics to understand how the site is used
You can disable cookies in your browser, but parts of the service will not work without essential cookies.
9. International Users
YDS operates and stores data in the United States. If you access our service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
10. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to other sites (e.g., business listings linking to external websites, our directory partners). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. Review their privacy policies before sharing information.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top will reflect changes. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered customers when reasonably possible. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
